Target Market for the Level 0 training program:
  • Amateur Coaches at junior level
  • High School Student
  • Parents
Competency Statement:

Level O Strength and Conditioning Coaches will be able to:

Plan and Prepare :
  • plan and prepare components of a training session appropriate for a junior athlete
  • organise human and physical facilities required to conduct the training component
Conduct :
  • organise and conduct components of a training session appropriate to the needs of a junior athlete
  • facilitate learning of the fundamental skills and tactics of these components of training.
  • communicate effectively with athletes and others involved in the program

Monitor/Review:

  • observe and assess athlete's performance in these training components.
  • provide appropriate feedback on this performance
  • adjust activite to suit the needs to these athletes

 Evaluate :

  • evaluate achievement of the objectives of the training session
  • evaluate the effectiveness of their coaching behaviour
Adapt :
  • identify and implement the appropriate modifications in future sessions.

The Australian Strength and Conditioning Association is the industry and national peak body for Strength and Conditioning in Australia. It was established in 1992 to look after the interests of Strength and Conditioning Coaches in Australia and to give the industry a voice in discussions and negotiations with service providers.

It is the professional / educational body for strength and conditioning in Australia. Coach education is a central component of the functions of the ASCA this is conducted through accreditation courses, updating seminars and through the ASCA official journal "Journal of Australian Strength and Conditioning".
